About?
Marumitsu Poterie
Originally getting its start in 1950 as a local ceramic wholesaler in Seto, Kenji Kato had the idea to create original designs after a visit to a potter in Gifu who was making bowls for French cafᄄᆭ au lait in 1985. Intrigued by the concept of making tableware for specific needs, he began working with local specialists to craft ceramic dishes that complemented each meal.
Made from natural clay sourced from the mountains, shaped by hand, and designed for various ingredients in mind, Marmitsu Poterie tableware is a companion to mealtime.?
